Annarpurna Base Camp Trek – 12 days

‘Annapurna Base Camp’ is the classic hiking journey into Annapurna Sanctuary under the Mt. Annapurna (8091m). It is the world’s tenth highest peak’s base camp of Mt. Annapurna (8091m). This trek would be a good choice for the beginners who would like to get into the Himalaya without longer acclimatization. Along the way, you will come cross Gurung and Poon Magars villages with stunning views of Annapurna range. This place is a home to many species of bards and the white monkeys (Langurs).

The journey begins from Kathmandu to Pokhara by flight or tourist bus. Pokhara offers breathtaking views of Annapurna range including Mount Fishtail (commonly known as Macchapuchure).

The actual journey of ‘Annapurna Base Camp’ begins from Pokhara to Nayapool (45 km) by bus/car/van ride of approximately 1 hour and a trek to Gorepani. On the way up to Uleri, Banthati and Gorepani, you will see the beautiful Mt. Fishtail (6993m), Annapurna South (7219m) and Hiuchil (6444m).

Next morning is a trek to Poon Hill (3210m), which is the best viewpoint to see Mount Annapurna. This is also a famous point to watch the early morning sunrise. The point also offers panoramic views of Mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges (Mt. South Annapurna (7219m), Hiuchuli (6444m), Fishtail (6993m), Annapurna I/II/III/IV, Lamjung Himal, Gurja Himal, Mt. Dhaulagiri I/II/III/IV, Tukche peak, South Nilgiri and Dhamodar Himal range etc.)

Next is the adventurous, yet exciting up and down hill walk to Dheurali, Tatopani, Chhumrung and Sinuwa. A final trek from Modi Khola valley to MBC to ABC is a walk right into the heart of the Annapurna. Encounter extravagant 360 degree views including: Mt. Annapurna I (8091m) from ‘Annapurna Base Camp’ at 4200m.

After this amazing trek, you will head back to Chhumrung and a different route to Jinu (Hot spring), Landurng and Dhampus Gurung villages. From there you can take a bus/taxi/van to Pokhara and to Kathmandu by Tourist bus or flight.

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek:
Itinerary :
Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu.
Day 2 : Trek briefing, preparation and visit Sawayambunath (Money Temple) in the afternoon.
Day 3 : Kathmandu to Pokhara by Tourist bus 6hrs.
Day 4 : To Nayapool by Taxi 45km/1hrs and trek to Uleri 1960m/5hrs (Up hill/step walk).
Day 5 : To Gorepani 2874m/5hrs (Views of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m, Tukche peak, South Nilgiri, Annapurna I (8091m), South Annapurna and Hiuchuli etc).
Day 6 : To Poon Hill early in the morning to see Sunrise and views of Mt. Fishtrail 6993m, Mt. South Annapurna 7219m, Hiuchuli 6444m and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and then up and down hill walk to Tadapani 2640m/5hrs (Best view of the Mt. Fishtail from Tadapani).
Day 7 : To Sinuwa 2300m/7hrs (close views of the Mt. Fishtrail, Annapurna III, and Hiuchuli etc).
Day 8 : To Dheurali 3210m/7hrs.
Day 9 : To Machhapuchhare Base Camp (MBC) 3700m/3hrs
Day 10 : Hike up to Annapurna Base Camp 4143m early in the morning for sunrise view 360 degree including: Annapurna I (8091m) , decent to Dovan 2640m/6hrs.
Day 11 : To Jhinu 1570m/6hrs (Up and down hill walk).
Day 12 : To Pohana 1900m/6hrs (Sunset views on Annapurna ranges including: Mt. Fishtail). There can see more local life on this trail.
Day 13 : To Dhampus Phedi 3rhs (down hill walk) and visit Tibetan monastery and Regugees camp and to Pokhara by Taxi/Van.
Day 14 : To Kathmandu by Tourist bus 6hrs.
Day 15 : To Visit in Kathmandu.
Day 16 : International Airport departure.

2) Two nights accommodation (Standard double or twin bed room with breakfast) at 2* Hotel at Thamel (Tourist center)/Kathmandu. Note:- The accommodation in Kathmandu can arrange/book according to client choice Hotel type. The clients have to pay differences if needed.
3) Annapurna Conservation Trekking entry permits.
4) Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card.
5) Kathmandu to Pokhara to Kathmandu by Tourist bus tickets.
6) Two nights accommodation in Lakeside/Pokhara
7) Teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with tea or coffee during the trekking days. Meals can be selected from Menu and will have enough while on trekking.
8) Accommodation during the trekking days.

Cost does not include :

6) Attach bath room during the trekking days. If the clients want attach bathroom where is possible, there have to pay differences between common and attach bathroom.

Trekking gears packing list for Annapurna Base Camp Trek:
1) Strong, comfortable hiking boot. Three pairs socks. Sandals.
2) Two pairs trousers, a fleece and down jacket, three T-shirts, two drip-dry T-shirts, long underwear, a woolen/fleece hat, glove, water/windproof jacket and trouser, sun glass, lip balm, Sun scream (50+), Sun hat, a light scarf, soap/shampoo and trekking towels etc.
3) Swimming custom for Hot shower bath.
4) A strong and warm sleeping bag (-10 degree centigrade).
5) Water purified medicine, 2L water bottle, hiking poles, medical kit and torch light with spare batteries etc.
6) A few interesting books and pack of cards.
7) Snow gaiters and micro-spikes for winter trip.
8) Plastic bag for waste and toilet paper.
9) Padlock.
8) A duffel bag or rucksack large enough (65L) size.
