Three Pass Trek – 18 days

Everest region’s Three Pass Trek is for the experienced trekkers. It is a challenging trek because you need to be physically fit and have good stamina, to be able to walk for several days at high altitudes. This trail covers many beautiful places in the Everest – Khumbu region.  

It is one of the best trails for high altitude trekkers. Our 18 days journey begins with a spectacular flight to the world most extreme Lukla Airport. The two nights stay for acclimatization in the Sherpa capital – Namche Bazaar is a must. The third morning is a day for a hike to the Everest view hotel, Kumjung Hilary School and Monastery to see the Yeti scalp, Khunde Hospital and many more.

Renjo La – Gokyo valley trek

You can explore the Khumbu – Everest region while ascending from a number of remote high passes to connect to the three valleys. The first high pass is Renjo La (5345m), with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu, all above 8000 meters. Following that you will head to the most scenic area, the Gokyo valley that is dominated by Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m). The next morning is an adventurous ascend to Gokyo Ri 5357m to see the dramatic views of 4 above 8000m peaks and Ngozumba glacier.

Cho La Pass – Everest Base Camp – Kala Pattar Trek

The second high pass is Cho La (5368m) but before that you visit Thanak via the Ngozumba glacier. It is the longest glacier in the Himalayas. Gokyo Valley and Khumbu Valley is connected by Cho La pass that is one of the adventurous high altitude trek. Many trekkers to Everest Base Camp attempt to climb Kalapattar, 5545m high small and easy peak, as it offers the most accessible view of Everest panorama with Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumari, Khumbu Ice falls and the glacier. You will have a chance to meet many famous mountaineers at EBC during the month of every April and May which is the best time for climb Mt. Everest.

Khongma La – Chhukung Valley Trek

The Khongma La 5535m is the final and highest high pass. Your destination here is Chhukung valley, via the Khongma La pass. The final and the smallest peak, Chhukung Ri (5550m), where you can witness wonderful views of Nuptse and Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam and Island peak in Chhukung valley.

After the third high passes, we will take you to the Pangboche monastery, the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region and Tengboche monastery. Then you decent to Namache Bazzar and Lukla and then fly out to Kathmandu.

Three Pass Trekking itinerary :
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Trek preparation and see Kathmandu.
Day 3: Lukla flight in the morning and trek to Pkhakding 2610m/3hrs (Visit Pema Choling Monastery in the afternoon.
Day 4: To Namche 3440m/5hrs (Kawande Peak up front Namche Bazzar).
Day 5: Hiking to Everest View Hotel, Khumjung Hillary school, Monastery to see Yeti scalp, Khunde Hospital and village etc.
Day 6: To Thame village 3800m/4hrs (Visit Thame Monastery in the afternoon).
Day 7: To Lungden 4380m/6hrs.
Day 8: To Renjo La 5360m pass to Gokyo Lake 4790m/8hrs (There is an excellent views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu from Renjo La.
Day 9: To Gokyo Ri 5357m early in the morning to see views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Gyachungkang and Makalu etc. Decent to Gokyo Lake and breakfast. Then after, visit to 4/5th Lakes and the biggest Nagazumba glacier.
Day 10: Thanak 4700m/3hrs via crossing Nagazumba glacier.
Day 11: To Cho La 5368m pass to Dzongla 4850m/7hrs (Up and down hill walk in high altitude.
Day 12: To Gorakshef 5140m/5hrs.
Day 13: To Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep 5hrs.
Day 14: To Kalapattar 5545m/2hrs in the early morning to see close view of Mt. Everest, South col, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumari, Khumbutse, Everest Base Camp, Khumbu ice fall and glacier etc. To Labuche, after breakfast at Gorakshep.
Day 15: To Khongma La 5535m to Chhukung 4730m/9-10hrs.
Day 16: To Chhukung Ri 5550m in the morning to see closely Nuptse and Lhotse wall and Chhukung Valley (round trip 4 to 5 hours).
Day 17: To Tengboche via visit Upper Pangboche Monastery; the oldest monastery in the Khumbu valley.
Day 18: To Namche 3440m/5hrs.
Day 19: To Lukla 2840m/7hrs.
Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu in the morning.
Note: Itinerary can be changed for interested side trips and safe acclimatizing while on trek. We can also put Khongma La on first high pass on itinerary on your request.

1) International Airport pick up and departure in Kathmandu.
2) Two nights accommodation (Standard double or twin bed room with breakfast) at 2** Hotel in Kathmandu. Note:- The accommodation in Kathmandu can arrange/book according to client choice Hotel type. The clients have to pay differences if needed.
3) Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park Trekking permit fee.
4) Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) cards (Trekking permit).
6) Kathmandu to Lukla to Kathmandu (round trip) Lukla flight tickets for clients and guide.
7) Domestic Airport pick up and departure for Lukla flight.
8) Teahouse meals for clients: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with tea or coffee during the trekking days. Meals can be selected from Menu and will have enough while on trekking.
9) Accommodation during the trekking days.

Cost does not include :

6) Attach bath room during the trekking days. If the clients want attach bathroom where is possible, there have to pay differences between common and attach bathroom.
7) Horse or Yak renting while on trek.

8) Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan etc. (City tour guide and transportation can arrange on request of clients).
