The Cho La high pass is an adventurous high altitude trek between Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lake. You will trek through traditional Sherpa village with passing ancient monasteries and spot wildlife plenty en-route to the base camp of Mt. Everest and nearby peak of Kalapattar is the best place to see the Everest panorama.

An elevation (5368m) of Cho La is an up-down walk in high altitude and much harder compared to Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar trek. You will super entry to Gokyo valley through crossing Nagozumba glacier when you success Cho La Pass. You will above the clouds as you ascend Gokyo Ri (5357m) from where you can snap superb photos of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu are all above 8000m peaks. Go high to Gokyo Ri from Gokyo Lakeside, witness one of the most spectacular Sunset views in the Himalaya.

Duration : 15 Nights/16 Days.
Trek start/end : Fly in/out at Lukla Airport in the Khumbu region.

Cho La pass via Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Trek briefing, preparation and visit Sawayambunath (Money Temple) in the afternoon.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Lukla flight in the morning and trek to Phakding 2610m/3hrs.
Day 4: To Namche 3440m/5hrs (Views of Mt. Thanserku, Kusumkangaru, Everest and Lhotse etc).
Day 4: Acclimatizing day: Go high and sleep low (Visit Everest view Hotel, Khumjung Halary School and Khunde village).
Day 5: To Tengboche 3873m/5hrs (Visit Tengboche monastery at 3PM).
Day 6: To Dingboche 4410m/5hrs (View of Mt. Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Tabuche peak etc).
Day 7: Acclimatizing day: Go high and sleep low (Uphill walk to Nagarthesang Hill 5000m/3hrs).
Day 8: To Thukla 4620m/3hrs.
Day 9: To Labuche 4910m/3hrs (Visit Italian pyramid in the afternoon).
Day 10: To Everest Base Camp 5364m/5hrs and return to Gorakshef 5140m/2hrs (View of Khumbu glacier and Ice fall).
Day 11: To Kalapattar 5545m/2hrs (To see close view of Mt. Everest, Sought Col, Lhotse, Pumari, Khumbu glacier and Ice fall etc) and decent to Dzongla 4800m/5hrs.
Day 12: To Thanak 4700m/7hrs via Cho La 5368m pass (up and down hill on high alitude).
Day 13: To Gokyo Lake 4750m/3hrs via Nagazumba glacier and visit 4th Lake in the afternoon.
Day 14: To Gokyo Ri 5357m/3hrs early in the morning to see dramatic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu all above 8000m peaks and glacier etc. Then, decent to Dole 4100m/6hrs.
Day 15: To Namche 3440m/6hrs via Mong La 4000m (Good view of the Khumbu Valley from Mong La).
Day 16: To Lukla 2840m/7hrs (up and down hill walk).
Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu in the morning.

Cost includes :
1) International Airport pick up and departure in Kathmandu.
2) Two nights accommodation (Standard double or twin bed room with breakfast) at 2** Hotel in Kathmandu. Note:- The accommodation in Kathmandu can arrange/book according to client choice Hotel type. The clients have to pay differences if needed.
3) Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park Trekking permit fee.
4) Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) cards (Trekking permit).
6) Kathmandu to Lukla to Kathmandu (round trip) Lukla flight tickets for clients and guide.
7) Domestic Airport pick up and departure for Lukla flight.
8) Teahouse meals for clients: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with tea or coffee during the trekking days. Meals can be selected from Menu and will have enough while on trekking.
9) Accommodation during the trekking days.
8) Trekking Staffs: An experience guide and necessary porter.
9) Three times meals and daily salary for guide and porter.

Cost does not include :
1) Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu.
2) Personal trekking equipment of clients.

4) Personal Insurance of clients such as medical treatment and emergency evacuation for helicopter rescue (USD8000-10000) etc.
5) Expenses for personal nature: Hot showers, laundry, donations, museum entry fee, movie/film watching, postage, telephone calls and email/Internet etc.
6) Attach bath room during the trekking days. If the clients want attach bathroom where is possible, there have to pay differences between common and attach bathroom.

Trekking gears packing list for Gokyo Lake via Everest Base Camp Trek:
1) Strong, comfortable hiking boot. Sandals or sport shoes and four pairs socks.
2) Two pairs trousers, a fleece and down jacket, three T-shirts, two drip-dry T-shirts, long underwear, a woolen/fleece hat, glove, water/windproof jacket and trouser, sun glass, lip balm, Sun scream (50+), Sun hat, a light scarf, soap/shampoo and trekking towels etc.
3) A strong and warm sleeping bag (-20 degree centigrade).
4) Water purified medicine, 2L water bottle, hiking poles, medical kit and torch light with spare batteries etc.
5) A few interesting books and pack of cards.
6) Snow gaiters and micro-spikes for winter trip.
7) Plastic bag for waste and toilet paper.
8) A duffel bag or rucksack large enough (65 to 75L) size.
Note: If you do not have any idea for trekking medicine, we will be sent some information upon trip booking.

We have down jacket and sleeping bag renting felicities for our clients. It is cost USD1 per sleeping bag and down jacket per day.
