Lower Mustang Trek for 7 days
Lower Mustang Trek is in the rain shadow of the Himalayas of Nepal. It’s also known as Jomsom Muktinath Trek. Jomsom is the gateway of the Lower Mustnag that is connecting by Road and Air from Pokhara.
It is short circuit hiking through some of Nepal’s most spectacular scenery. It is dry and wind-swept region of Nepal that lies in some part of the classic Annapurna Circuit as well. This is an excellent option for short hiking in the Annapurna for the monsoon season (July to August) as Lower mustang is in the rain shadow.
You can witness the Buddhist, Hindu and Bon Culture in the Lower Mustang. There is Buddhist ancient monasteries and Hindu Temples in Muktinath that is a sacred site for both Buddhists and Hindus.
Kagbeni, Tiri, Jhong, Muktinath, Jharkot, Purang, Lubra and Thini Gaon are villages to visit and interesting to see the daily life of locals. There is majority of Thakali and Gurung ethnic groups.
There celebrate Yartung festival (horse racing competition, singing and dancing) in Muktinath in the full moon of August.
