Ganja La Pass – Trekking In Nepal
The high pass Ganja la lies towards the upper Langtang Valley in the Northern part of Nepal, combined with Helamabu trekking. It is is one of the challenging trekking in Nepal, that tests your physical fitness. A few organized camping groups go to Ganja La 5106m pass trekking in every year.
This trek starts from Kathmandu to Sybfrubesi by public bus or a private vehicle. You will experience an exciting trek to Langtang valley and to Kyanjin by walk. Along the way, in this trek, you will get to see and be a part of Tamang and Buddhist culture.
Enchanting views of the Langtang Lirung (7234m), Langtang Ri (7205m), and Langsisa range, along with many waterfalls, are sure to fill your heart with excitement.
The trek gets even more exciting once you reach Kyanjin Gomba. From here, you will hike towards Langtang Lirung base camp, Kyangjin Ri 4700m high and Tsergo Ri 5033. Although this trek could get tiresome, the energy refills when you witness the panoramic view of the mountains.
A day trek to Tsergo Ri 5033m is up-hill and can get pretty tiring. The trip gets even more exciting when you get to see beautiful Langtang Lirung, Langtang Ri, Ganjala chuli peak and pass,and Langshisa range, from the top.
Ganja La Pass Trekking trail:
Upon crossing the Langtang stream, comes an up-hill climb to Ngegang. You go even higher to the Ganja La (5106m) pass which sometimes is blocked trekking tail by snow. Along the way you will see prayer flags dancing to the rhythm of the wind. It offers spectacular view of the Mt. Langtang Lirung and Mt. Shisha Pangma 8013m (Tibet’s mountain). The journey gets little challenging with a slippery path on rocky hill, that requires fixed rope decent of 50m, sometime.
After you pass Ganja La, you will head towards Tarkeghyang (a famous spot for its monastery) and Sarmathang of Helambu region. The journey ends at Melamchi Bazar, from where you take a public bus to Kathmandu.
