Langtang valley trekking – A narrow valley located North of Kathmandu, is close to the border of Tibet. The trek starts from Kathmandu to Dhunche – Syafrubesi that takes around 5-6 hours (by public bus or private jeep) as Road is improved a lot from couple of years. You will get to see some of the most beautiful snow peaks of the Ganesh and Langtang ranges, and simple yet rich Tamang and Buddhist cultures.

Going further into the Langtang valley, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa. This is one of the most popular places to stay and here you will find fooding and lodging facilities. Trek to Langtang is considered to be one of the most exciting trekking experience in Nepal. Among all the places you can visit in Langtang village, the cheese factory near the Gomba is famous in its own way. The factory was started as a Swiss project in 1955.

You can do a day trek to Tsergo Ri, Kyanin Ri, Langtang Lirung Base Camp and Langsisa Kharka in Langtang valley trekking.

Tsego Ri is one of the best view points in this valley. 5-6 hours trek towards the west of Yala Kharka will reach you to the summit (4984 meters) that has beautiful pray flags all around.

Kyanjin Gomba – Langsisa Kharka, a day trek

From Kyangjin Gomba, if you head up then you will reach Langsisa. Here you can experience a walk in the main Langtang Glacier. The famous big red rock at Langsisa has a story associated with it. According to legend the rock got this reddish hue because once a holy man who lived outside the valley lost his Yak, which he found here. His yak dies here and so the name of the place is Langsisa (Lang means Yak ans Sisa means dies).

You will have an opportunity to see closely River, rocks, glaciers and jungle walk with watching white monkeys, wild animals, yaks and many birds during the Langtang Trek.

Langtang Valley Trekking Itinerary :
Day 1: International Airport pick up in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Trek briefing, preparation and visit Sawayambunath (Money Temple) in the afternoon.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Syafrubesi 1460m/6hrs by public bus or jeep 5-6hrs.
Day 4: To Rimche/Lama Hotel 2450m/5-6hrs (Jungle walk along Langtang Khola, Views of honeys on rock cliff, birds and monkeys etc).
Day 5: Langtang Village 3436m/5hrs (Visit cultureal center and village in the afternoon).
Day 6: To Kyanjiing Gomba 3850m/4-5hrs (Visit Kyanjin Gomba; Buddhist temple and Yak cheese factory in the afternoon.
Day 7: A day hiking to Langtang Lirung Base Camp, Kyanjin Ri 4710m, Tsergo Ri 5033m or Langsisa Kharka that on choice of client.
Day 8: Decent to Lama Hotel/Rimche 2450m/7hrs.
Day 9: To Syafrubesi 1460m/6hrs.
Day 10 To Kathmandu by public bus or jeep 5-6hrs.
Note:- Trek itinerary can be changed to suit for novice to experience trekker, interested side trip and extra days for acclimatizing while on trek.

Cost includes :
1) Airport pick up and departure.
2) Two nights accommodation (Standard double or twin bed room with breakfast) at 2* Hotel at Thamel (Tourist center)/Kathmandu. Note:- The accommodation in Kathmandu can arrange/book according to client choice Hotel type. The clients have to pay differences if needed.
3) Langtang National Park Trekking entry fee.
4) Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card (Trekking permit).
5) Kathmandu to Syafrubesi to Kathmandu by public bus or jeep.
6) Teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with tea or coffee during the trekking days. Meals can be selected from Menu and will have enough while on trekking.
7) Accommodation during the trekking days.
8) Nepali Staffs: An experience trek guide and one porter/carrier for one or between two client.
9) Three times meals and daily salary for guide and porter.
11) Insurance of guide and porter.
Cost does not include :
1) Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu.
2) Personal trekking equipment of clients.
3) Snack, Juice, Coca, Fanta, Sprite, Beer, Whisky, Boil and Mineral water during the trekking days.
4) Personal Insurance of clients such as medical, emergency evacuation (helicopter rescue USD6000-8000), flight and trek cancellation etc.
5) Expenses for personal nature: Hot showers, laundry, donations, museum entry fee, movie/film watching, postage, telephone calls and email/Internet etc.
6) Attach bath room during the trekking days. If the clients want attach bathroom where is possible, there have to pay differences between common and attach bathroom.
7) Tips for staffs.
8) Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan etc. (City tour guide and transportation can arrange on request of clients).
