Rara Lake Trek in the northwest of Nepal
Rara Lake Trek is suitable for both the first time trekker and seasoned veteran of Himalayan traveler who prefers unspoiled culture, nature and uncrowded trail in Nepal. Rara is the largest Lake in Nepal which lies in the remote Karnali region of Nepal. It is situated at elevation 2990m with 5.1km length, 3km wide, 167 depth and area of 10.8 sq. km. There is a stunning view of Rara Lake, villages of Bajura, Jumla, Dolpa, Mugu districts and snowy peaks from Marma Top (3692m). This is circuit trekking into the Rara National Park that is home of several protected wildlife. This trek begins from the Airstrip of Jumla and hiking to Sinja valley (the ancient winter capital of the Malla Kingdom) where can see authentic culture. Then, heading to Chuchemara danda (4039m) that provides an excellent backdrop of Rara Lake with surrounding forested hills and snow peaks around it. There is snow trout fish in the Lake but fishing is prohibited. Many migratory birds otter in the Lake during the winter. There blooms colorful Himalayan flowers in the summer.
