Simikot – Limi valley in the monsoon
We run camping organized trip for ‘Limi Valley Trek’ in the far northwest corner of Nepal. It has beautiful cultural and natural landscape. We recommend Limi valley for monsoon season trekking destination in Nepal because there is not hard raining in July/August. It is so close from Tibet border where goes a few camping organized group each year. This trekking destination has been opened for group trekkers since 2002 however; Limi valley is mostly unexplored, uncrowded trail and unspoiled culture highly influenced with Tibetan.
Simikot to Limi valley is circuit trekking for 17 days in the Humla region. It starts with a night transit in Nepalganj and short flight to Simikot Airstrip on next morning. The Nara La (4620m) pass connects Simikot and remote Limi valley in the upper Humla region. Visit ancient monasteries in Til, Hilji and Jhong villages along Limi Khola route. There is an opportunity to see rare flora and fauna in the valley. Nyalu La (5001m) pass is the highest elevation of this trek that gives spectacular views of Tibet Himalaya including holy mountain Kailash in Tibet and Nepalese mountain peaks such as Api (7132m), Rishi, Byas and Saipal (7031m) etc.
