The ‘Kanchenjanga Base Camp Trek’ is in the eastern Himalaya that has the most stunning scenery of Nepal. Mt. Kanchenjanga is the third highest peak in the world at 8586m. Hiking around Kanchenjanga is getting popular now a day because there can be done basic teahouse trek in busy season (September to November and April to May).

One can not only see panoramic view of Kanchenjanga, Makalu and Everest but also offers high alpine vegetation and verity of Rhododendrons, Fir, Pine, Home Lock and Oak trees. This region is also rich in wildlife such as the Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Blue Sheep, Wild Goad, Marmot and Weasel etc.

During our Kanchenjanga Trekking, we visit Ghunsa; the Bhotia (similar Tibetan) village by passing several villages of Rai and Limbu who are the mainstays in the Brithish Gorkha Regiments. There is acclimatizing days at Ghunsa before starting Kanchenjanga North Base Camp – Pangpenga 5160m. There are spectacular views of Jannu Himal, Nepal Peak, Kanchenjanga I (8586m) and it’s glacier from Pangpenga. Then, decent to Ghunsa again and starting South Base Camp of Kanchenjanga by Crossing Sininon (Selele) La 4646m. After Kanchenjanga South Base Camp, we go to Taplejung with up and down hill walk on narrow trekking trail some places which is more adventurous in the remote area.

The Suktar/Taplejung Airport has been upgraded. There is operating direct flight between Kathmandu and Suktar/Taplejung. The North and South Base Camp Trek of Kanchenjanga start and end at Suktar/Taplejung Airport now a day.

Trek start/end : Fly in/out at Suktar/Taplejung Airport.

Itinerary of Kanchenjanga Base Camp Trek:
Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu.
Day 2 : Trek briefing, preparation and visit Budhanath Stupa in the afternoon.
Day 3 : Kathmandu to Suketar/Taplejung by flight.
Day 4 : Trek to Phurumbu 4-5hrs.
Day 5 : To Chirwa 1246m/6-7hrs.
Day 6 : To Sekthum 1585m/5-6hrs.
Day 7 : To Amjilosa 2395m/5-6hrs.
Day 8 : To Syabla 2730m/5-6hrs
Day 9 : To Ghunsa 3427m/5hrs.
Day 10 : Training: Go high and sleep low (acclimatizing day).
Day 11 : To Khambachhen 4027m/4-5hrs.
Day 12 : To Lonak 4780m/4-5hrs.
Day 13 : To Pangpengma - Kanchenjanga North Base Camp 5143m and decent to Lonak (a day hike for 6-7hrs).
Day 14 : To Gunsha 3427m/6hrs.
Day 15 : To Selele Banjyang 4480m/5hrs.
Day 16 : To Sininon (Selele) La 4646m to Tseram 3870m/6-7hrs.
Day 17 : To Ramche 4580m/5hrs.
Day 18 : To Oktang - Kanchenjanga South Base Camp 4730 to Ramche (a day hike for 6-7hrs).
Day 19 : To Dorongdin 3000m/7hrs.
Day 20 : To Yamphudin 2080m/7-8hrs.
Day 21 : To Mamankhe 1785m/6hrs.
Day 22 : To Khesewa 2120m/6hrs.
Day 23 : To Lali Kharka 2265m/6hrs.
Day 24 : To Suketar/Taplejung 1820m/5hrs.
Day 25 : To Kathmandu by flight.
Note : - Day to day trek itinerary can be changed for interested side trips, extra days for acclimatization if needed while on trek. Please feel free to talk further more if you have any questions.

Cost includes :
1) International and Domestic Airport pick up and departure.
2) Two nights accommodation (Standard double or twin bed room with breakfast) at 2* Hotel at Thamel (Tourist center)/Kathmandu. Note:- The accommodation in Kathmandu can arrange/book according to client choice Hotel type. The clients have to pay differences if needed.
3) Kanchenjanga Conservation trekking entry fees.
4) Kanchenjanga Special trekking entry fees.
5) Kathmandu to Suktar/Taplejung to Kathmandu flight tickets for clients, guide and porter.
6) Teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with tea or coffee during the trekking days. Meals can be selected from Menu and will have enough while on trekking.
7) Basic Teahouse accommodation during the trekking days.
8) Nepali Staffs: An experience trek guide and porter.
9) Three times meals and daily salary for guide and porter.
10) Insurance of guide and porter.
Cost does not include :
1) Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu.
2) Personal trekking equipment of clients.
3) Snack, Juice, Coca, Fanta, Sprite, Beer, Whisky, Boil and Mineral water during the trekking days.
4) Personal Insurance of clients such as medical, emergency evacuation (helicopter rescue USD10000-12000), flight and trek cancellation etc.
5) Expenses for personal nature: Hot showers, laundry, donations, museum entry fee, movie/film watching, postage, telephone calls and email/Internet etc.
6) Attach/private bath room during the trekking days.
7) Tips for guide and porter.
8) Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan etc. (City tour guide and transportation can arrange on request of clients).
