Mera Peak lies in the Mahalangur Himalayan range and some sections of the Makalu Barun National Park. It is categorized as a trekking peak in Nepal. It has three summits: Mera South (6065m), Mera Central (6470m), and Mera North (6476m).

Mera Peak (6470m) Central Climbing route is graded as alpine PD, ascending snow, and glacier slopes that rarely exceed 30 degrees. It is an ideal peak for trekking and climbing for beginners with over 6000m in the Himalayas. The summit is for the witness of unparalleled stunning panoramic views of the eight-thousanders including mountain Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Cho Oyu (8201m), and Kanchenjunga (8586m). Mera North (6476m) is a technical climb compared to Central and South Peaks.

A safe acclimatization rule is the main key thing to the success of the Mera Peak expedition. We carefully design day-by-day itineraries for safe acclimatization while on the Mera Peak Trekking before the push to the summit.

The journey begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Phaphlu and travels to Bung village by jeep. We walk through a beautiful village of Rai and Sherpa ethnic and Rhododendrons jungle to the high alpine environment. It’s a circular trek off the beaten path in the Inkhu and Hinku valleys.

High alpine Lakes (Tama and Panch Pokhari) are interesting sights to must-see en route. There held an annual festival at Panch Pokhari in Janai Purnima full moon August. Not be miss the Sunrise and set views from the Mera High Camp and Panch Pokhari while on the trek.

Day to day itinerary:

We take good care of guests from arrival to departure at Kathmandu Airport. Please check the cardboard of High Camp Trekking upon arrival at the Airport. Our company representative helps you transfer to the Hotel in Thamel (tourist center). You give a briefing about trek preparation and things to do in Kathmandu.

We explain each day's program and packing list for trekking and Island Peak climbing. Today, we obtain Mera Peak climbing permits in Kathmandu. We take to you for a tour of the world heritage site Kathmandu Darbar Square (Hanuman Dhoka) in the afternoon.

The Trek itinerary can be changed for an interesting side trip and additional acclimatization day if needed while on the trek.

Please read carefully the cost includes and does not include the above. All the meals are included with tea/coffee while on the trek. We do not include drinking or boiled water which you can buy at the teahouse; this is $1 to 3 per liter. You can take water-purifying tablets or Seripen for a cheaper solution. Wi-Fi, battery charges, and hot showers are omitted.

    List of personal trekking & climbing gears:
    • Comfortable hiking boot. Three pairs of socks. Sandals.
    • A down jacket, fleece jacket, three T-shirts, two trekking trousers, two drip-dry T-shirts, one long underwear, a woolen/fleece hat, glove, water/windproof jacket and trouser, Sunglass, lip balm, Sun screem (50+), Sun hat, a light scarf, soap/shampoo and trekking towel etc.
    • Sleeping bag (-20 degree centigrade) with hood.
    • Water purifier tablets, 2L water bottle, hiking poles, medical kit and tourch light with spare batteries etc.
    • Climbing gears: alpine boot, crampon, hernes belt, sefty cord and ice axe.
    • A few interesting books and a pack of cards.
    • Plastic bag for waste and toiltet papers.
    • A padlock.
    • A day bag (25 to 35L) or rucksack or duffel bag large enough (65 to 75L) size.

    Note:- We have down jacket and sleeping bag renting facilities for our clients. It is the cost per day USD1 per sleeping bag and down jacket.
