Nepal Immigration Trekking Depart issues special hiking permits for foreign trekkers who intend to trek in the controlled areas of Nepal. There requires a minimum of two International passport holders trekkers to obtain special hiking permits for the controlled areas and apply for the hiking permits through a registered trekking agency. A license-holder trek guide must go with a group. The controlled areas and Nepal special trekking permit fees are as follows:

Controlled Area Trekking Permit Fees:
1. Upper Mustang Area: USD500 per person for the first 10 days. Then, USD50 per person per day beyond 10 days.
2. Lower Dolpa Area: USD20 per person for the first week. Then, USD5 per person per day for one week.
3. Upper Dolpa Area: USD500 per person for the first 10 days. Then, USD50 per person per day beyond 10 days.
4. Gorkha – Manaslu Area: September to November.

USD100 per person the first week. Then after, USD15 per person per day beyond 1 week.

December to August.

USD75 per person for the first week. Then after, USD 10 per person per day beyond 1 week.

5. Gorkha – Tsum Valley Area: September to November.

USD40 per person for the first week. Then after, USD7 per person per day beyond 1 week.

December to August.

USD30 per person for the first week. Then after, USD 7 per person per day beyond 1 week.

6. Manang – Nar Phu Area: September to November.

USD100 per person the first week. Then after, USD15 per person per day beyond 1 week.

December to August.

USD75 per person for the first week. Then after, USD 15 per person per day beyond 1 week.

7. Solu – Khumbu – Nangpa La Area: USD20 per person per week for the first 4 weeks. Then after, USD25 per person per week beyond 4 weeks.
8. Rasuwa – Timure Area: USD20 per person per week.
11. Dolkha: USD20 per person per week.
10. Taplejung – Kanchenjunga Area: USD20 per person per week for the first 4 weeks. Then, USD25 per person per week beyond 4 weeks.
11. Sankhuwasabha – Makalu Area: USD20 per person per week for the first 4 weeks. Then after, USD25 per person per week beyond 4 weeks.
12. Bhajang: USD90 per person per week for the first week. Then after, USD15 per person per day beyond 1 first week.
13. Mugu: USD100 per person per week for the first week. Then after, USD15 per person per day beyond 1 first week.
14. Darchula: USD90 per person per week for the first week. Then after, USD15 per person per day beyond 1 first week.
15. Humla: USD50 per person per week for the first week. Then after, USD10 per person per day beyond 1 first week.

Note:- Nepal special trekking permit fees must be paid in US dollars.
