Khopra Ridge Trek for 10 days
The ‘Khopra Ridge Trek’ is a newly opened teahouse trekking in the Annapurna region. It was camping style trek in the past years. This trek is located away from busy trials of Annapurna and few trekkers know about it. It is a classic trekking in Nepal including pastoral villages, paddy fields, jungles, wildlife, yaks and panoramic views of Himalaya etc. There is Khayer Lake at elevation 4660m, a sacred Lake at the foot of South Annapurna. It takes an extra day to hike to the Lake from Khopra Danda at teahouse. There go Shamans for graduation in the full moon August each year. There is superb views of South Annapurna, Bhahra Shikhar, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri from the Lake. It is a scenic trekking in the Annapurna region.
The ‘Khopra Trek’ begins with traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus. the hiking route follows the same trail to Poon Hill in the beginning. The Khopra Ridge is on the North of Poon Hill that is walk downhill in the valley before get up to a Khopra Ridge (Danda). Then, there is walking on the Rhododendron forest ti join on the busy trail of Annapurna at Tatapani. Then, trek to Ghandrung village to Pothana/Australian Camp to Dhampus Phedi and drive to Pokhara by car. Back to Kathmandu by Tourist bus.
