Somos una pareja española que hemos hecho el trek circular del Annapurna con Sanjaya Lama, de High Camp Treking, agencia regentada por él mismo, su hermano Norsang Lama y su padre Chheduk Man Lama. Recomendamos vivamente esta empresa familiar a quien esté interesado en conocer Nepal, sea la actividad que sea la que tengáis pensado llevar a cabo en el país. El trato que ofrecen es de lo más familiar que os podáis imaginar y se nota que aman su país y sus montañas. Desde el momento en que llegas a Katmandú se convierten en vuestro ángel de la guarda. No te dejan ni a sol ni a sombra, con la ventaja de que están perfectamente preparados para ejercer también de guías turísticos: capaces de explicar sus religiones principales y, en consecuencia, todo lo que ves en los múltiples templos que vas visitando. De este modo, se convierten con total naturalidad en amigos, maîtres en todas las comidas, relaciones públicas (te consiguen la mejor habitación posible en los diversos lodges) y todo lo que queráis…
Además, se adaptarán perfectamente a vuestras necesidades particulares tal como nos ocurrió a nosotros, que precisábamos algún día libre en Kathmandu para asuntos privados y Sanjaya no dudo en ofrecerse a acompañarnos fuera de programa haciendo de traductor, consiguiéndonos taxis, etc.

On my first visit to Nepal I had a wonderful time trekking to EBC in February, at the end of the winter season. I had little trekking experience and Norsang helped ensure that I was well prepared and guided me every step of the way. Right from being picked up from the Airport Norsang organized everything around my requirements and I was able to focus on just enjoying the experience. After the trek he took me on fascinating sightseeing tours around Kathmandu. We appreciated very much the Langtang – Gosainkunda Lake – Helambu Trek for 12 days with Norsang Lama and his team at High Camp Trekking. You have organized for us during our holidays in Nepal, end of October 2010. It gave us fantastic opportunities to see the Mt. Langtang Lirung (7234m) and to visit the Gosainkunda Lakes region. Then, we were able to walk down to Kathmandu, with very scenic views of the Helambu area.

Our group included 3 ladies and 6 gentlemen, all French citizens, between 30 and 60+ years of age. The way you had organized this trek was very professional: adequate balance between walking times and rest times, good selection of nice places to enjoy tea breaks, lunch and night accommodations, etc… In all circumstances, you always provided good advices and high altitude safety concern. Furthermore your team (5 porters) did a great job in supporting us during the trek. You were taken good care of us upon our arrival in Nepal and during our whole stay in Kathmandu.

If we have the chance to come back to beautiful Nepal for another trek, we will for sure get in touch with you and your team to help us organizing it.

During spring 2010, I decided with a friend to do a trek in the Langtang Valley – Gosainkunda Lake – Helambu.

We found our guide, Norsang Lama, on Internet.

With his help, everything was planned and organized perfectly. From the first day at the Airport to the end of the trek and the visit of Kathmandu, his advices were very helpful. He is a very friendly person and knows a lot of things about politics, Buddhism, wild, and Nepal in general.

With his help, we could climb Tsergo Ri 5000 summit without experience of high altitude and talk to Nepali people in the villages.

I strongly recommend you to contact him if you want to go to Nepal, and I hope I’ll see him again next time I want to do a trek!

I also used Norsang for my trek this March 2010. This was the first time I had used a guide or even been to Nepal and I must admit I was nervous about handing over a pile of cash to some total stranger! But, both Norsang and the porter he uses (Karma) were fantastic… they took care of all my needs, they are especially friendly and taught me a lot about the local culture – even how to play some of the various card games they all played.

We completed Gokyo Ri, Cho La Pass, Kalapattar and EBC. This was a difficult trek for me as four days before flying out to Kathmandu I was back in hospital with a knee problem having injections etc – I couldn’t even walk around the local park at that stage. They created a bespoke itinerary to take account of his and showed great patience with me and we had many laughs together.

They made the trek possible and ensured I had a fantastic time. Again a big thanks to them both. Norsang, His brother and father run a typical small but high quality business together.
