Tamang Heritage Trail
The ‘Tamang Heritage Trail’ is relatively new and exciting trekking route between Langtang and Ganesh Himal regions. This trek offers to see Tamang rituals with Buddhism and shamanism, costumes, architecture, festivals and panoramic mountain views etc.
The journey begins from Kathmandu to Syafrubesi 132km traveling by public bus or private car/van. The trail passes through Goljung Danda, Gatlang village, Chilime, Tatopani, Thuman, Timure, Rasuwa Gadi, Bridhim and Khangjim village and back to Syafrubesi again. The Nagthali 3165m high view point offers to see closely view of Mt. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Poldar peak, Samgen Himal, Gosainkunda – Lahurebninayak range and village from Tibet and mountains. You can enjoy a hot bath in the hot-water spring at Tatopani village. There is basic teahouse and home stay facilities during the trekking days. You have a chance to discover local traditions of this wonderful region and interact with the fun loving Tamang people. It is one of the easy access and circuit trek through picturesque peaceful villages north towards the Tibetan borderland.
