Hiking in Nepal

Hiking in Nepal is a great way to see the country. We offer classic routes and lesser-known trails in different lengths.

Hiking in Nepal’s hills around Kathmandu is a popular option. Four main hills, each just under 3,000 meters, give you views of the countryside and the Himalayas. Walks like Chisapani to Nagarkot and Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha are favourite day trips. Many of Kathmandu’s historical and cultural sites can also be reached on foot. Our local guides grew up in these areas and know the landscapes, history, and culture well. They speak several languages and enjoy showing hidden trails and sharing stories, helping you find parts of Nepal that most visitors miss.

Pokhara, the second-largest city in western Nepal, has popular hiking spots like the World Peace Stupa, Sarangkot, Panchase, and Australian Camp. While exploring Pokhara, you can enjoy views of the Annapurna Mountains.

Hiking in Nepal often means going above 2,000 meters and spending more than a week to reach viewpoints or mountain bases. Easy treks last a few days, follow clear trails, and have gentle climbs for beginners or those with basic fitness. Moderate treks are longer and involve bigger altitude gains, with some mountain passes or steeper sections, so they are best for people with good fitness and some hiking experience. Challenging treks are for experienced hikers with strong fitness levels, as they involve long periods at high altitude, steep climbs, and remote paths.

Your safety remains our top priority on every hike. All our guides are trained in first aid, altitude sickness, and emergency response. Our itineraries include gradual altitude gains and acclimatisation days to help prevent altitude sickness. During your trek, we do regular health and altitude checks and follow safety rules, including carrying medical kits and staying in touch with our support teams.

If you want to join a guided hiking group in Nepal, we offer options for different trek styles and schedules. You can choose from easy, moderate, or challenging treks across a variety of routes and trip lengths.

We suggest training in the weeks leading up to your trek. Try regular hikes or long walks, especially on hills or stairs, to build endurance. Strengthen your legs, core, and back with exercises like squats, lunges, planks, and step-ups to improve stability and reduce fatigue. Cardio activities like jogging, cycling, or swimming will also boost your fitness. Practice carrying your backpack and slowly add more weight.

If you want a private trek, most of our trips are arranged for couples or friends who want more flexibility. Let us know your travel dates, preferred trek, group size, and any special requests. We will customise the itinerary, route, and services for you, then handle permits, accommodation, transport, and guide assignment once your trip is confirmed. Please book in advance to secure your dates and allow time to obtain permits and plan.

A minimal deposit is required for the trip booking, with the remainder due after arrival. We will give you clear payment instructions. If your plans change, let us know as soon as possible. Our cancellation policy is flexible, and you may get a full or partial refund depending on the timing. You can also reschedule. For full booking terms and cancellation details, please contact us.

If you feel unwell or get injured during the trek, our guides will quickly assess the situation and provide first aid. If more care is needed, the guide will arrange transport to the nearest clinic or health Centre. For serious cases or emergencies at high altitude, we can arrange fast evacuation, including emergency helicopter rescue if needed. Our support team in Kathmandu is ready to respond quickly and put your safety first.
